- Known for its olive oil, Chianti Classico Gallo Nero wine and the iris flower, which when is in full bloom colours the valley in purple during May. The village is located in Rubbiana Valley. Incidentally this is the symbol for the city of Florence. The flowers are harvested in late spring and sold to French perfumeries after their beauty is honoured at the international Iris festival held in May - Festa del Giaggiol . The village is located in Rubbiana valley near Greve in Chianti, and here there is ample opportunity to enjoy various classic dishes at the local osteria / pizzeria in the town, besides visiting the area's production farms to observe the making of the world famous local products, taste them, and not least to buy and take them home.
