The medieval city to surpass all others, that is what many call Siena. In no other place do you find such a splendid example of harmonious town planning, and Il Casato compliments the picture. This is no new hotel built in concrete and steel, but one of the old aristocratic mansions in the town, Palazzo Bardi from the 14th century. This grand house was rebuilt in the 18th century, and the superb vaulted ceilings, which in many places are covered by frescos, date back to this time as do the fantastic intarsia marble floors in the hall.
The house is a class A listed building! All guests are free to enjoy the public rooms, a spacious kitchen-diner with everything you need for cooking, and the delightful terrace with stupendous views of the city. At the end of the street lies Piazza del Campo, quite rightly called the most beautiful piazza in the world. You cannot describe it, it has to be seen!
After comprehensive renovation in year 2000 the mansion house now receives guests in 12 beautifully decorated bedrooms, all with en suite bathroom, telephone, TV and elegant furniture.
Parking is available in a supervised multi storey car park only 250 m away (or free street parking approx. 500-600 m away). Please note that it is not possible to drive right to the door.
