Three famous Italian painters were born near Viccio. This is Giotto's home region and also Beato Angelico's region, what you might notice here and there throughout the village. The third well know painter is Armeno Mattioli. The town's theater is named after Giotti, and many events held in the city, are named after the Masters. Vicchio is not a large town, though you can find a small selection of restaurants and food stores. In Borgo San Lorenzo, only 7 km. away, the setting is slightly larger you find more crowds. As well as a wide range of restaurants, cafes and shops. If you like to go to Florence, will take you about 45 min. at 38km distance.
