La Locanda dell'Angelo is set in superb natural surroundings 5 km from Assisi. The place used to be called Villa Bagnariae because of the many springs in the area. The hills and valleys are covered by century old olive groves.
The main building together with the small chapel date back to the 13th century. Today the farm and small restaurant is managed by Eugenio and his family. Eugenio and his brother tend the fields and do all the work associated with running a farm. In the evenings they help their mother in the restaurant.

Assisi is known all over the Christian world for Saint Francis, but the town has a lot more to offer than the famous basilica and the many visiting pilgrims. From Assisi it is easy to get to Umbria's other gems, such as the beautiful Perugia, the impressive Orvieto and the charming towns of Todi, Spoleto and Gubbio. Lake Trasimeno is within half an hour's drive.
