This picturesque old farmhouse is located on the border between Tuscany and Umbria, near Lake Trasimeno, which means that you can quickly and easily get south to Rome and north to Florence along the A1 motorway. In the acre of garden that surrounds the house there is a 12 x 6 metre swimming pool and a large terrace with parasols and sun loungers.
When they renovated the farm, it was with the intention of renting rooms separately as a bed & breakfast. For this reason, all rooms have their own internal bathrooms and air conditioning which is a great rarity in houses of this type. The house also has Wi-Fi. If you don't feel like cooking, or indeed eating out, it is possible to hire a chef to come to the house and cook for you. You can order from a fixed menu or request something specific.

I have been travelling to Italy through the past 25 years, and this place is in the top 3 for me. Nothing less, than a fantastic place. View of Tuscany to the east and Umbria in the west. The house is locate on the top of a hill, so the only sound is the birds singing. The rooms are the best. We got food thrice (we were there 14 days) and there were enough. We had 8-10 Italian specialities every time, and no repetitions and free drinks, so the price was absolutely reasonable. Castiglione del Lago is located centrally, so if you won't just enjoy life at the place, there's countless opportunities for recreation. As I said, it is just a fantastic place.
Kind regards Klaus Adamsen
All our expectations to a good holiday were met. Kind and effective communication with the owner. The house worked faultlessly.
For a big family, who wants to be free of neighbours, this villa is ideal.
A week surrounded by Italian overflow and luxury, is over. You can relate to the feeling Jeppe must have had, when he woke up in the baron's bed. You wake up in the heaven bed in the tower room in Villa a Chiaraluna. Let it be said once, the pictures from the house don't lie, it is as accurately lavish and full of detail as the pictures show. The kitchen wasn't very well-equipped, but it was good enough for eight adults. We were well taken care of by the hostess and her family. Just a little warning for those who orders dinner at the house, start slowly, otherwise it can get to be too much. We give the best recommendations.
We were 8 adults and 4 kids, who spent a week at Chiaraluna.
We flew to Rome and rented cars there.
The house was very beautiful with a fantastic view over Lake Trasimeno and the Italian landscape.
We can really recommend the accommodation. It was comfortable and suited us well.
It was nice with showers and bathtubs in all rooms.
We had an amazing week and all worked well.
