Cittá di Castello is a town strongly characterised by its Renaissance architecture. The town was always an important artistic centre and many great artists have lived here, for instance, Raphael, Luca Signorelli, Giorgio Vasari and Rosso Fiorentino. The town is also famous for textiles and typography.
