Monte Castello di Vibio is a cute little medieval town in the heart of Umbria. Here you can stroll along the stone streets and enjoy a lovely view of the beautiful Umbrian landscape. Besides the restaurant at the Hotel Relais Il Castello, there is the Bar Centrale, where you can buy something to drink and enjoy a panoramic view over the green hills. Here are a few shops here including a butchers and a pharmacy.
You will find the country's smallest theatre here, namely the Teatro Concordia where they use different sets throughout the year. You can also visit the churches of Chiesa dei SS Filippo e Giacomo, Chiesa della Madonna delle Carceri and Chiesa di Santa Illumintata. The village originally had two gates to enter the town - the Porta Tramontana and Porta di Maggio, and the latter you can still view today. The city's location means you have many nice places such as Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio, Cortona and Lake Trasimeno within reach. The village of Todi lies on the hill and it is known among other things for its church of Santa Maria della Consolazione.
