These beautifully decorated apartments are all original in shape, size and decor but one thing they have in common is a private patio area of their own, with outdoor furniture. So you can enjoy your own terrace with great views of the countryside. Naturally there is also a swimming pool which measures 15 x 7 metres.
You aren't likely to get bored here at Borgo Santa Maria as you will find both a small football field, a volleyball court, petanque court, a fishing pond, a playground and mountain bikes for hire. On the farm there is also a communal laundry, sale of local products (including wine, oil and vegetables) as well as an internet point (and wireless internet which covers large areas).

The small village of Santa Maria is only 800 m away and here you will find a restaurant and shops, and the nearest train station is 4 km away in t Fabro. Finally we should point out the excellent walking opportunities along the marked paths in the neighbourhood. Cooking courses can also be organised here for groups of four or more people. We should point out that the train line runs about 400 metres away from the farm and sometimes, depending on the wind direction you can hear the trains.
We stayed at Borgo Santa Maria in 2013, when our daughter was 2 years old and loved it. Therefore we returned again this year (2016) with our two children at 5 and 2. We can definitely recommend the place. It is very beautiful with the big garden with beautiful flowers and little private corners/terraces, hammocks, a playground, great pool area and other leisure activities. The apartment is decorated tastefully and well-equipped and with a little terrace/front yard. The place is situated in a valley with a great view over fields and hills/sunset, and the little town Monteleone nearby is very romantic and with no tourists. We also love the fact that you can serve yourself in the garden with berries, herbs and some vegetables. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Only disadvantage is the train passing by every now and then. Depending on the wind direction it can sometimes be quite noisy. But overall it's not that big of a problem. Umbria is really green and beautiful and not full of tourists like Tuscany. And it's closer to Rome for cheap flight connections. The place is close to the highway (you don't hear or see it though!) which makes trips around the area easy. For instance Orvieto nearby is worth a visit.
